Our Staff

 

Staffing

Merino Court Childcare Centre maintains the following ratios of staff to children:

0-3 year olds (Possums) - 1:4 (1 staff for every 4 children, with 1-2 Qualified staff)

3-5 year olds (Goannas) - 1:10 (1 staff for every 10 children)

 

School Age Children:

5-12 year olds (Schoolies) - 1:10 (1 staff for every 10 children)

 

Each group spends time indoors and outdoors, with early morning and late afternoons in a mixed family setting. Our outdoor environment has different play areas to promote both socialisation and independence.

Nellie Hamilton

Role: Owner/Approved Provider/Early Childhood Teacher

Qualifications:

-Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood

Nellie has been the owner of Merino Court Childcare Centre since 2001. Nellie's interests include playing sports, chocolate, watching sports live in person, chocolate, watching sports on tv, chocolate, checking sports results on the internet, chocolate and chocolate. Nellie's focus at Merino Court Childcare Centre is to manage a service which provides quality care for children and supports the family.

 

 

Cal Zwart

Role: Manager/Nominated Supervisor/Early Years Educator

Qualifications:

-Certificate 3 in Children's Services

-Certificate 4 in Children's Services (Out of School Hours Care)

-Diploma of Children's Services 

-Nominated Supervisor

Cal has been at Merino Court Childcare Centre since July 2008. Cal's interests include eating lots of junk food and then feeling guilty about it and falling into a bout of depression. Cal's focus at Merino Court Childcare is to provide the children with the understanding that they have a right to belong to and participate in a sustainable future, through connections with the natural environment and the local community to which we belong.

 

 

Karen Howard

Role: Early Years Educator

Qualifications:

-Certificate 3 in Children's Services

-Diploma of Children's Services (Early Childhood Education and Care)

-Certified Supervisor

Karen has been with Merino Court Childcare Centre since November 2008. Karen's interests include running around endlessly after her two sons, cleaning up after them, cooking for them, cleaning up after them, cooking for them some more and also cleaning up after them. Karen's focus at Merino Court Childcare Centre is to provide a caring, comforting and positive environment, where the children can then explore, problem solve, create and work at their own pace.

 

 

Tammy Beswick

Role: Early Years Educator/Educational Leader

Qualifications:

-Diploma in Childrens Services

-Certified Supervisor/Supervisor Certificate

Tammy has been with Merino Court since October 2015. Tammy is Merino Court's Educational Leader, managing and monitoring the centre's curriculums and assisitng all of the staff in implementing fun and educational play experiences and learning environments.

 

 

Bek Scott

Role: Early Years Educator

Qualifications:

-Certificate 3 in Children's Services

- Diploma of Children's Services

- Certificate 4 in community services

- Diploma in youth work

Bek has been at Merino since February 2016. Before Merino Bek worked in a Youth at risk residential program as the Youth Director. In her spare time Bek enjoys hanging out with her friends, going down south, Dancing and shopping. 

 

 

Sue Perry

Role: Early Years Educator

Qualifications:

-Certificate 3 in Children's Services.

-Diploma of Children's Services (Early Childhood Education and Care)

-Certfied Supervisor

Sue has been with Merino Court Childcare Centre since March 2008. Sue's interests include getting her words mixed up and making those around her laugh. Sue's focus at Merino Court Childcare Centre is to provide a home like environment where children participate in a variety of experiences such as cooking and gardening.

 

 

Lindsey McFarlane

Role: Cook

Quailifications:

-Certificate 3 in Children's Services

-Diploma of Children's Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) (2014)

-Certified Supervisor

Lindsey has been with Merino Court Childcare Centre since March 2008. Her hobbies include watching NCIS, spending time with her husband and two children, listening to Robbie Williams and spending time with her 'fur baby' (Labradoodle).

 

Merino Court also has a small list of casual staff.
